KCTCS Online TECHNICAL Requirements
Platform:
- PC (Windows 2000/XP/Vista)
- Mac OS 10.3/10.4/10.5
Hardware (minimum):
- Pentium 800MHz or equivalent
- 256MB RAM
- 2GB free disk space
- Sound capability with speakers (for courses with multimedia)
- Reliable internet connection. DSL, Cable, Satellite, or faster internet connection highly recommended. 56k dial-up connection will work, but courses will load very slowly
Software – required:
- Java
- Test your browser to see if you have currently have Java
- World Wide Web browser.
- Must support cookies and Javascript.
- Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 (or higher version such as IE7 or IE8)
- Check other versions that are compatible with Blackboard
Software recommended/required for some courses:
- Adobe Reader
- Adobe Flash Player
- Adobe Shockwave Player
- Microsoft Office
- Microsoft Windows Media Player
- Quicktime
- Real Player
* Disable any pop-up blockers on your system while using Blackboard
* Individual classes may require additional software
