Prerequisites

KCTCS Online offers many associate degrees, certificates, and diplomas.  As you advance through course modules, you may find that more advanced course modules require prerequisites.  Prerequisites are required items such as test scores, classes, and class standings needed prior to registering for certain courses.

Prerequisite course requirements can be satisfied by providing test results (ACT, SAT, or COMPASS), admissions documents (college transcripts), or taking course modules.  Another way to satisfy prerequisites is through advanced placement or credit for prior knowledge.   If you can demonstrate course competencies, you may also be able to receive the consent of your instructor to enroll in a course module that has prerequisites.  Contact the KCTCS Online Student Services Help Desk to find out how to receive instructor consent.
